National Library of Indonesia Holds Heroes' Day Commemoration Ceremony

Salemba, Jakarta - The National Library is holding a Heroes Day ceremony by implementing health protocols. Even though during the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony continued solemnly.

The Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, said that Heroes' Day would not only be remembered every November 10, but became a momentum to commemorate the struggles and sacrifices of heroes who have risked their lives to defend the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"What the heroes have done can inspire and motivate us all to continue their struggle. If in the past we fought to take up arms, now we are fighting against various problems of the nation, including fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently sweeping the world," he said while reading his remarks from the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Batubara, Tuesday (11/10).

It is said, the Commemoration of Heroes' Day 2020 which takes the theme "My Heroes of All Time" can provide additional energy to raise public awareness to unite in prioritizing national unity and integrity. The spirit of heroism that continues to burn can be used as a driving force in an effort to fill independence to realize the ideals of the nation. 

"Let's contribute by becoming today's heroes who have empathy to help others and respect each other," he continued.
