Realizing Ideal Archives Management, National Library of Indonesia Holds Technical Guidance for Internal Archival Supervision
Salemba, Jakarta - Improving the quality of archives management within the National Library is becoming a priority. The scope of archiving needs to be supported by adequate human resources, infrastructure and budget. So it is necessary to have internal archival supervision to support the realization of the ideal archiving organization. This was conveyed by the Director of the National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando when opening the National Library Internal Archival Supervision Technical Guidance 2020 event, Wednesday (11/4).
"Internal Archival Supervision has a weight of 40% in the results of archival supervision which is important to be understood by all archival organizers at the National Library," he explained.
Furthermore, the Director of the National Library explained that the results of archival supervision will determine the performance index of archival in government institutions. Currently, according to Syarif Bando, National Library of Indonesia has achieved achievement in organizing archives by ranking 13th within Ministry/Institution.
"With this technical guidance, I hope that archival supervision can be implemented properly by all archival organizers at the National Library," he hoped.
The Head of the Bureau of Human Resources and General Affairs of the National Library Muhammad Masykuri also conveyed that the Internal Archival Supervision Technical Guidance invited the Internal Archival Supervision Team to be carried out in collaboration with ANRI.
This is done in order to obtain the same information and knowledge about internal archival supervision activities so that archiving can be realized in accordance with the rules of the prevailing laws and regulations.
“The Archival Supervision Team that has been formed cannot automatically carry out supervisory duties. They need to be equipped with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the scope of supervision as well as aspects of internal archival supervision," he explained.
The technical guidance, which was held on November 4-5 2020, presented several speakers, including the Head of the ANRI Archival Accreditation Center Zita Azih Supratiwi, ANRI Central Accreditation Coordinator Siti Nur Aeni, and ANRI Archivist Indah Purnamasari.
