Webinar with DBI: South Kalimantan Province is Ready to Welcome the Golden Generation with Literacy

Salemba, Jakarta - The presence of the Indonesian Reading Ambassador (DBI), Najwa Shihab, as a speaker at the Webinar “The Joy of Reading Books” is expected to be an inspiration to increase people's reading enthusiasm, especially in South Kalimantan. The booming enthusiasm that reached 3,662 participants, some even from Singapore and Malaysia, shows that reading and literacy activities are starting to get people's attention.

“This virtual talk show really exceeds expectation. This is a proof of the very high appreciation from community towards literacy," said Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Library and Archives Service Office, Nurliani, when opening the Webinar "The Joy of Reading Books" in collaboration with the National Library (Perpusnas), Friday (7/24). 

Furthermore, Nurliani said that the activity was a concrete manifestation of the South Kalimantan Provincial Library and Archives Service Office involvement to supports the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024 to form "Superior Human Resources for Advanced Indonesia" and the South Kalimantan Reading Movement which was announced by the Governor on March 31, 2017.

"Presenting Mba Nana (Najwa Shihab's nickname) is one of the ways South Kalimantan Province moves to meet the golden generation, namely the global literacy generation," added Nurliani.
