Azerbaijan Ambassador Explores Cooperation with National Library
Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, received a visit from the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Indonesia, Jalal Mirzavev, at the National Library Director Meeting Room, Thursday (5/28). The visit discussed about the cooperation between National Library and Azerbaijan. The Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Jalal Mirzavev, expressed his desire to cooperate with the National Library. One of it is holding an exhibition in the framework of Azerbaijan Independence Day Commemoration, as well as a cultural exhibition to introduce the culture of Azerbaijan to the people of Indonesia.
"Azerbaijan is a Muslim majority country, this condition is almost the same as Indonesia, so many cultural and religious values are the same between the two. But because it is still in a pandemic condition, this activity must also be postponed first," he said.
Furthermore, Jalal explained other cooperation that could be carried out such as the exchange of book collections. "In our country, there is a prominent realistic literature figure named Abdurrahim Bey Hagverdiyev who has interesting works, we hope that these works can be displayed as a collection in the National Library," he continued.
Meanwhile, Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando welcomed the cooperation that will be carried out with the Azerbaijan Embassy to Indonesia. "We are hoping cooperation in cultural, science and many other exchanges that can be start from the National Library with each exploring the potential of both countries," he said. Syarif added the National Library has cooperated with several countries. Among them are the State of Oman, Iran, and Cuba.
