Director of National Library: Technology is a Nation Literacy Product

Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta- Director of the National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando was present as a guest speaker at "Student Interactive Dialogue: Generation 4.0 Understand Media Literacy" at Prof. Dr. Hamka University, Wednesday (10/10). On this occasion Syarif conveyed the importance of reading for students. "A big risk if a nation doesn't like to read. Without reading a nation will become extinct, "said Syarif.

Syarif added, reading will make a person learn various self-competencies. Starting from leadership, problem solving, collaboration, networking, as well as innovation and creativity. Those things will be useful to create acceleration of change through technology. Then it can be said that technology is a literacy product of a nation.

Literacy will bring us to the depth of knowledge that will create quality products and services as proof of a country’s progress.

As part of a nation each person bears the responsibility for the survival of his nation. For this reason, the awareness to improve literacy through reading must come from within oneself. "Read as capital that will be passed on to our children and grandchildren. That is our responsibility, "said Syarif.

Also present at this event was Chairman of the Film Censorship Institution Ahmad Yani Basuki dan Special Staff of the Minister of PPN/Head of Bappenas Danang Rizki Ginanjar.
