Salatiga Municipality Library Wishes for DAK Assistance

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - Head of Archives and Library Office of Salatiga Municipality, Slamet Setyo Budi, said that Salatiga Municipality regional library still needs a lot of funds to build a library. This was stated during a work visit to National Library on Wednesday (5/2).

"Salatiga Municipality library building consists of 3 floors and should be able to accommodate up to 100,000 books, but up to now there are only 53,000 books. As a matter of fact, every year visit rate is always increasing," explained Slamet.

Responding to this, Head of Public and Special Library Development Division, Nurhadi Saputra, said that National Library has stimulant assistance in the form of Special Allocation Fund (DAK), the proposal of which can be submitted to help improve the quality of regional libraries.

"This DAK has 6 menus, including library construction, expansion, renovation, IT equipment, collection, and furniture. This April, submission will be opened. Specifically, for library construction and expansion, it must be supported by land certificate and DED (Detailed Engineering Design)," Nurhadi said.
