South Sulawesi Province Continues to Develop Hallway Library
Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - In efforts to increase public interest in reading, the Provincial Government of South Sulawesi through Library and Archives Service Office plans to continue in developing the hallway library program. Hallway Library Program is cooperation between Provincial Government of South Sulawesi and Reading Mother.
At present there are 55 hallway library points that already exist in 5 regencies/municipals in South Sulawesi and will continue to grow. As in Makassar City which has 10 hallway library points.
Head of the South Sulawesi Province Library and Archives Service Office, Moh Hasan, also said that he had budgeted 50 million for each point. "In accordance with the Governor of South Sulawesi’s direction to continue in expanding the existence of hallway library, we are targeting to build 2020 points throughout South Sulawesi Province,” explained Hasan when meeting the Director of National Library at the National Library Service Facility Building, Friday (3/13).
According to Hasan, in efforts to improve coordination and synergy between each element of government, a coordination meeting will also be held which will be attended by all library and archival leaders in South Sulawesi Province on March 26, 2020.
National Library Director, Muhammad Syarif Bando, welcomed the efforts being made by South Sulawesi Provincial Government. He said that this is a real support for Indonesian President Joko Widodo's policy related to the development of human resources quality.
