Spreading Bung Karno's Literacy Virus and Pancasila in Pamekasan Madura

Pamekasan, Madura East Java - The Bung Karno Library in collaboration with the Pamekasan Regency Library and Archives Service Office, again held an Internalization of Bung Karno's Thought which was officially opened by Deputy Regent of Pamekasan, Raja'e, was attended by more than 250 participants consisting of school principals, teachers, boarding school figures, students, reading fondness and writer communities, cultural figures and some elements of official service in Pamekasan regency, Tuesday (3/10) at Mandhepah Agung Ronggosukowati Building. Also present on the occasion, former Deputy Regent who was also a Pamekasan education figure, Dr. Kadarisman Dadang Sastrodiwiryo, and Head of Pamekasan Library Service Office, H. Budi Ashari. While Head of Bung Karno Library, Janti Suksmarini, who was accompanied by Head of Information and Cooperation Service Division, Agus Sutoyo, in her remarks said that the implementation of Bung Karno's Thought Internalization in 2020 is located in 5 regions, Pamekasan Regency, Belitong Regency, Penajam Paser Regency of East Kalimantan, Makassar City, and Sorong City of West Papua, and today we begin in Pamekasan Regency, Madura. "It is hoped that with the internalization of Bung Karno's thought, it can broaden the public's knowledge, especially about the history of Bung Karno's thought which underlies upright and independent because of a mature thought from Bung Karno," she said.

While Deputy Regent, Raja'e, said that the development of science and technology cannot be separated from books, the advancement of culture and the high civilization and also the intelligence of a nation cannot be separated from the struggle of the founder of the Republic of Indonesia who was also the proclamator, Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno-Drs. H. Mohammad Hatta. Raja'e also said that the government is responsible for the continuity of the implementation and management of library as a center of community learning as well as the process of educating the nation's life in accordance with Law No. 43 of 2007 and PP No. 24 of 2014 Concerning Library. This is important to say, as for library development, said Raja'e, is done based on characteristic, function, objective and carried out in accordance with the needs of the community by utilizing information and communication technology in sustainability. "Library in the past was synonymous with reading and borrowing books, the collection of books was limited and incompetent in the duties so it became a factor in slowing the reading interest which in turn would slow down the development process in Pamekasan Regency," he said.

Furthermore, Raja'e revealed that in order to overcome all these things, it would be necessary to have a modern library with good collection of books and in accordance with the needs of the community development in order to realize the great, rajjeh, bejjreh tor perjugheh Pamekasan. "Alhamdulillah, over time the Pamekasan Library has transformed in providing services and promoting community empowerment through library programs based on social inclusion that are aligned with the National Library of Indonesia program," he said. 

The person in charge of the Bung Karno’s Thought Internalization activity, Agus Sutoyo, said the purpose of this internalization is to invite the Pamekasan community to explore and recall the history of proclamator Bung Karno's thought which inspired many Indonesians in maintaining the nation integrity, nationalism and the practice of Pancasila in real concepts of daily life. Bung Karno as the independence proclamator and Indonesia's first president was a very intelligent figure who could maintain well the academic atmosphere. Aside from being a warrior, said the Head of Service Division, he along with other heroes was also meritorious in bringing the Indonesian nation free from the confines of Dutch invaders imperialism. Bung Karno's intelligence could become a source of example as an inspiration for the development of the nation's civilization. "The books he wrote were phenomenal and became historical evidence to show that he succeeded in making a balance as an intelligent, dignified national figure and hero of Indonesia's independence. Just look at the book titled Indonesia Menggugat, Di Bawah Bendera Revolusi, Sarinah, and Bung Karno dan Pancasila, all of his thoughts are very visionary," he said. Agus Sutoyo who became the moderator in this event invited the participants to explore Bung Karno's thoughts, especially the millennial generation of Pancaila ideology, nationalism, and as a means to build a modern and advanced civilization of the nation. Participants who asked questions also received souvenir from Bung Karno Library. Salam literasi. MERDEKA..!!
