DPRD of Central Maluku Wishes Speed for Boat for Mobile Library
Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - As an archipelago, Central Maluku Regency requires fast and adequate mobile library transportation facilities, such as boats or speed boats. This was specifically conveyed by Head of DPRD Commission IV of Central Maluku Regency, Jailani Tomagola, during a visit to National Library on Thursday (13/2).
"From the topography, Central Maluku Regency is an archipelago, so to reach the entire community, a speed boat is needed. Including the library, we also want the library to use a speed boat," said Jailani.
Furthermore, Jailani said, National Library had provided book assistance, the problem is that it has not been distributed to all villages. This is because there are areas difficult to reach by land routes, so it must be reached using sea transportation.
"In addition, the availability of books in library is also still lacking," he complained.
A similar notion was also expressed by member of DPRD Commission IV of Central Maluku, Ahmad Ajlan Alwi, that his visit to National Library was for coordination on library services. He admitted that the existence of library is important to educate the nation's children.
"We hope that there will be synchronisation between National Library and library service office so that the existing programmes are evenly distributed to remote areas. So that it can provide positive contribution so that remote areas are not left behind by other regions," he said.
Meanwhile, Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando said that village fund could be utilised related to book procurement. Because at the present time, village fund can be allocated for library. And Central Maluku Regency is one of the regions that received assistance from National Library Special Allocation Fund (DAK) worth IDR 4.5 billion for building construction.
