National Work Meeting (Rakernas) Participants of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia Visit the National Library

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta – National Work Meeting Participants of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, visited the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday (3/6). The visit was conducted in the series of the National Work Meeting and the 20th Anniversary of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.

The visit was received directly by Prime Secretary, Sri Sumekar, Deputy of Library Materials Development and Information Services, Ofy Sofiana, and Deputy of Library Resources Development, Woro Titi Haryanti.

In her remark, Deputy of Library Materials Development and Information Services, Ofy Sofiana, explained the National Library has two locations, namely on Jalan Salemba for administration and guidance, while on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan specifically used for services. The Service Building was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on September 14, 2017.

"With enthusiasm, we always provide excellent services to public and of course in accordance with the President's mission to realize superior human resources for Indonesia Maju," she explained.

Ofy added that since it was inaugurated, the National Library Service Building showed a significant trend of number. Based on data until March 2020, the number of visitor who visited was 2,084,451 people. She hopes that with this visit, all participants can introduce the existing services in National Library to public.

"After this visit, I hope you can all inform the family or the public about the services available at National Library," she said.

The same thing was also expressed by Head of Legal, Cooperation and Organization Bureau of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, Dwi Ciptaningsih, said with the visit there were benefits for the Rakernas participants. "The Head of Representatives who participated in this visit can convey to the local Regional Head about the importance of increasing reading interest," she said.

Furthermore, Dwi said her party had cooperated with National Library related to the library management. "Because the library in the Ombudsman can live but is less attractive, we need to know how to manage it," she said.
