Using Library Special Allocation Fund (DAK), Tanah Bumbu Regency Library Building is Ready to be Inaugurated
Salemba, Jakarta - Tanah Bumbu Regency Government asked the Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, to inaugurate the new library building. The four floor building, which was built using Physical Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of Library Field in 2019, is plan to be inaugurated on April 8, 2020 along with the anniversary of the regency which located in South Kalimantan.
Last year, through the Physical DAK of Library Field in 2019, Tanah Bumbu Regency received assistance for library building construction. DAK is one of the flagship programs of the National Library for local governments in the framework of equitable distribution on library facilities in Indonesia.
Deputy Regent of Tanah Bumbu, Ready Kambo, hopes that this new library facility will advance the Tanah Bumbu community. “Through reading books, community knowledge is expected to increase. By reading books, literature, and all kind of the national literature that enter there, naturally, the human resources will increase their knowledge. The aim is to increase the quality of the human resources with this library," he explained.
Deputy Regent, Ready stated this during a visit to the National Library, Jl. Salemba Raya No. 28A, Jakarta, on Friday (03/06/2020). In addition, the Vice Chairman of Tanah Bumbu Regency Regional People's Representative Assembly (DPRD), Alvia Rahman, DPRD members, and the head of service office were also present. The legislative and executive group of Tanah Bumbu Regency was received by Deputy of Library Resources Development, Woro Titi Haryanti, Prime Secretary, Sri Sumekar, Deputy of Library Materials Development and Information Services, Ofy Sofiana, and librarians of the National Library.
In addition, the Deputy Regent Ready consulted with the intermediate leadership of the National Library asking for Library DAK assistance in 2021 to fill the new building. ”Three assistance menus to be proposed are Information and Communication Technology (ICT), furniture, and library collections. At present, the new building is filled with a library collection from the old building. But in the future, please assist us to fill it in including books needed for Tanah Bumbu community. What an extraordinary reception! We are very pleased to be warmly received,” he explained after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Deputy Woro appreciated the presence of the Deputy Regent and Deputy Chairman of Tanah Bumbu Regency DPRD who came together to National Library. According to her, this is a unity of executive and legislative support for the library. Support from Deputy Regent and Deputy Chairman of the DPRD makes us very confident, she explained.
With the new building, Deputy Woro hopes that the functional officials of librarian will be prepared. Competent professional experts are needed to manage the new library. If possible, there should be formation for librarian, whether it is inpassing or new recruitment. The Head of Service Office can calculate the workload and then report it to the regent, she said.
Deputy Ofy explained that there are many National Library products that can be utilized by Tanah Bumbu Regency. Like iPusnas the digital library application, INLISLite the library automation application software, and a website displaying the media transfer results of the archipelago ancient manuscripts, Khastara.
