Developing the Library, the National Library has a Mutual Agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture

Bogor, West Java - The National Library of Indonesia has a mutual agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding the development, utilization and optimization of libraries within the Ministry of Agriculture. The signing of a mutual agreement was carried out by the Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, with the Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, on the sidelines of the Soil and Agriculture Museum launch, Jl. Ir. Juanda No. 98, Bogor, on Tuesday (3/3/2020).

Muhammad Syarif Bando stated this cooperation aims to synergize programs and activities between the National Library and the Ministry of Agriculture. Furthermore, this is expected to increase the effectiveness of the functions and roles of the two institutions in the utilization and development within the Ministry of Agriculture.

The mutual agreement covers seven scopes, namely the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the field of documentation and information center (pusdokinfo), through the development of the National Main Catalog database, library automation, and the expansion of the national network of digital repository library incorporated into Indonesia OneSearch (IOS); HR and ICT development in the field of library and librarianship; mutual development and utilization of library collection; support in the development of education and training for library and librarianship field.

"In addition, this cooperation also carries out the collection and preservation of Printed Works and Recorded Works (KCKR); strengthening library programs based on social inclusion; and other cooperation agreed by the two parties in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," explained Syarif Bando.

Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Agricultural Technology Dissemination and Library (Pustaka) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Retno Sri H. Mulyandari, stated that intensive collaboration must be carried out with the National Library so that the latest information related to agricultural development and agricultural technology can be accessed by farmers, extension workers, and the public. "So it can be accelerated immediately, massively accessible up to the level of extension workers, so that we truly become an invention bridge towards innovation, in that case we can improve the welfare of our farmers in Indonesia," she explained before the signing of the mutual agreement.

The mutual agreement is valid for a period of three years from the date of the signing.
