Director of National Library Handed Over the Library Accreditation Certificate to Minister of Agriculture

Bogor, West Java - The Director of the National Library of Indonesia, Muhammad Syarif Bando, handed over an accreditation certificate to the Center for Agricultural Technology Dissemination and Library (Pustaka) of the Ministry of Agriculture to the Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The hand over was made on the sidelines of the Soil and Agriculture Museum grand launching as well as the inauguration of the Open Virtual Literacy Room in Bogor, West Java on Tuesday (3/3/2020).

The Ministry of Agriculture's Library won an "A" accreditation based on the assessment result of the Library Accreditation Institute (LAP) assessor team, formed by the National Library of Indonesia. Besides achieving accreditation A, the library that services are within Ministry of Agriculture, won the best title for special library category.

The Chairperson of LAP, Tisyo Haryono, said the Ministry of Agriculture’s Library got the highest score among other special libraries. "The Ministry of Agriculture’s Library is the best special library. LAP conducts an assessment in order to improve the quality of library through accreditation," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Library, Retno Sri H. Mulyandari, appreciated the accreditation A that was obtained from the National Library. Retno thanked the Ministry of Agriculture’s librarian team for their hard work and guidance.

In addition to the hand over of accreditation certificate, Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, also accompanied Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, when signing the inscription of the Soil and Agriculture Museum and launching the Open Virtual Literacy Room.

In accordance with Law No. 43 of 2007, the Special Library provides library materials in accordance with the needs of users in the environment. Special library provide services to users in the environment and limited services to users outside of the environment.
