Kebumen Regency Gets One Addition of Mobile Library Car Unit from National Library

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta- The Director of National Library handed over symbolically the Mobile Library Car assistance to the Library and Archives Service Office of Kebumen Regency, Friday (1/31). This was done to coincide with a comparative study of the Regional People's Representative Assembly (DPRD) and the Library and Archives Service Office of Kebumen Regency ranks to Medan Merdeka Selatan National Library Building related to the library implementation.

Deputy Chairperson of Kebumen Regency DPRD, Yuniarti Widyaningsih, said that currently Kebumen Regency has more than 1.3 million inhabitants. "We think about how the reading interest in Kebumen Regency can continue to increase. Besides that, we want access to books to be enjoyed by public reach the remote areas," she added.

At present the people of Kebumen Regency is spread across 11 kelurahan, 26 sub-districts and 460 villages. Yuniarti hopes to be able to get assistance from the central government, bearing in mind that until now the Regional Revenue and Expenditures Budget (APBD) and village funds are not considered to be in favor of the library development in Kebumen Regency.

Head of the Public Library and Special Library Field of the National Library, Nurhadisaputra, explained that the National Library has many stimulants for regions in developing regional library. One of them is through the assistance of mobile library car.

"Kebumen Regency has previously received two units of mobile library car assistance, namely in 2008 and 2013," said Hadi. With stimulant in the form of assistance, it is hoped that in the future the region will be able to develop its library independently.
