National Library Central Work Meeting 2020: Library is Expected to Support Literacy in Major Project
Salemba, Jakarta — Two of the seven development agendas according to the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024 which are strengthened by Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 18 of 2020 are the creation of quality and competitive human resources and mental revolution and cultural development. RPJMN 2020-2024 contains 41 national priority projects (major project). The National Library (Perpusnas) is expected to play a role in supporting literacy in the Major Project.
This was conveyed by the Director of Development Funding Allocation for National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Erwin Dimas, on the occasion of the Perpusnas Central Work Meeting (Rakerpus) 2020 on Tuesday (1/28/2020). The Major Project is a strategic project that is integrated both from central Ministry/Institution (K/L), regional, State-Owned Entreprise (BUMN), and public.
"The role of library can be optimized in the sector of the enhancement of tourism and industry human resources capacity, literacy for family nutrition in the effort of stunting handling and the development of appropriate technology implementation in public, such as science tech park development pla in four universities," explained Erwin Dimas in front of the Rakerpus participants.
However, for funding source due to the high needs, added the Director of Development Funding Allocation, National Library needs to develop innovations to improve the quality and capacity of budgeting, such as utilizing non-pure Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) of funds, aligning programs/activities between K/L, optimizing Special Allocation Funds (DAK), and community participation (CSR) for library facilities and infrastructure.
