Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) of the Library Resources Development Deputy
Salemba, Jakarta - Professional work can be realized by the existence of a technical series from one component to another, although it has different functions but supports the main process. This was conveyed by the Director of the National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, when giving direction at the Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) of the Library Resources Development Deputy, in Salemba Hall, Tuesday (1/21).
"So if all people here work technically they will never be separated from their roles in managing the Indonesian libraries that have three barometers. Among them, libraries in Indonesia function well, Indonesian readers and literacy index increase and the ratio between population and the number of books in circulation is balanced," said Syarif.
Furthermore, Syarif also said, the need to have same commitment in guiding the development of library construction and increasing the reading fondness in Indonesia. "In the coming days, it is likely that National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) will continue to increase the budget for two components, namely library based on social inclusion and library Special Allocation Funds (DAK) assistance. Because, this is increasingly inseparable from the President's vision of developing superior human resources towards advanced Indonesia," he continued.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Committee, Widiyanto, said that the meeting was held as the beginning of a series of activities for the 2020 budget year, although it was routinely carried out annually but it was hoped that it could be carried out more seriously. "Especially now that library becomes one of the priorities of national development through library based on social inclusion program. As a library development agency throughout Indonesia, the National Library has a tough task, one of which is to examine the implementation of librarian inpassing," he said.
Furthermore, Widi added, in this year's Rakernis is discussing about the evaluation of the activities in 2019 implementation, evaluating the 2015-2019 strategic plan, and preparing the 2020-2024 strategic plan. In the Deputy for Library Resources Development, the tasks are related to public and stakeholders including the development of all types of libraries, and the guidance of library management and functional staffs. "We are trying to integrate the data in Deputy 2 to be put together in one container which can later be easily accessed," he added.
