Mayor of Sibolga Story when Visiting Cerritos Library, California

California, United States – During the busyness of taking part in Regional & Urban Development Strategy (RUDS) training; "Human Resouces Development and Effective Leadership in Building a Competitive Regional Economy" at the University of California Irvine, United States, Mayor of Sibolga took time to visit the Cerritos Library, a public library and reading room for public, on Wednesday (11/20).

Judging from the arrangements, services to collections, the feeling that Mayor of Sibolga felt was not much different like when visiting libraries in Indonesia, especially in the Public Library of Sibolga City. Various programs that have been initiated by the Mayor have resembled with what was witnessed and felt, starting from book arrangement, IT-based services, the availability of complete collections, to the existence of special rooms that is comfortable and indulgent as well as attracting users to linger here. In line with the function of the library which is not only a place to read and borrow books, but also can be a place for educational recreation for public.

However, one thing that become concern and compassion is when many parents accompany their children to visit library looking for textbooks and story books that lead to an increase in reading fondness from an early age. A good and motivating culture can enhance the early reading fondness so that people's intelligence is also increasing.

In the future, the Mayor of Sibolga through Sibolga City Library Service Office is asked in continuing to coordinate with the North Sumatera Provincial Library and Archives Service Office and the National Library of Indonesia in order to improve library functions that support the Social Inclusion Based Library in Sibolga City, so that all libraries in Sibolga City are able to become the starting point for the birth of new entrepreneurs who will drive public economy and welfare in Sibolga City.
