National Library Officially Launches Perpusnas Press and SiPena

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - The 39 years (1980-2019) moment of National Library was marked by the launch of Perpusnas Press and Publishing Information System (SiPENA) as a publisher of publications belonging to the National Library specifically in library and librarian field. The Indonesian Publisher Association (IKAPI) officially incorporated National Library as a member since August 2019. Perpusnas Press not only publishes and publicises in printed form but also electronic. 

The moment of Perpusnas Press and SiPENA launching was carried out by the Prime Secretary of National Library represented by the Head of Legal and Public Relations Section, Rismini, at National Library Services Facility Building on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan Number 11, on Tuesday (11/19).

"In the midst of advances and technological sophistication, including technology in the field of printing, Perpusnas Press is expected to give a maximum contribution that is able to increase the quality or quality standards of library publications," she said.

In line with this intention, National Library also launched a Publishing Information System (SiPENA). SiPENA was introduced as one of the innovations in publishing management in the National Library and also a repository of all National Library publications. SiPENA provides full text access in digital format (PDF and e-book). Published products that can be accessed among others books, journals/magazines, reports and proceedings. At present, all National Library publications can be accessed through iPUSNAS and Perpusnas Press digital channel, ePUSTAKA.

Rismini said that with SiPena, it was hoped that it could encourage improvement in institutional performance, service quality, and as part of bureaucratic reform implementation.

Edi Wiyono, Head of Publishing Sub Section, hopes that with SiPena, the public can access all types of publication owned by National Library. "With this, public can get information easily related to policies made by National Library as a library supervisory institution throughout Indonesia," explained Edi.
