Provide Latsar Participants CPNS, Director of National Library Emphasizes the Matter of Cooperation and Solidarity

Ciawi, West Java – Director of the National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando gave a briefing to participants of Basic Training (Latsar) Candidates for Civil Servants Group III Batches 31 and 32 at Agricultural Leadership and Management Training Center (PPMKP) Ciawi, West Java, on Thursday (10/10/2019).

Syarif Bando appealed to latsar participants in National Library to strengthen a sense of unity and solidarity. The CPNS are asked to cooperate with each other and pay attention in building institution. "National Library cannot change except with new knowledge. How we change one centimeter in the future depends on new knowledge. The purpose of your training here is to advance our institution. Here, we build a sense of unity in harmony, rest assured that friends who are around are a strength for you," he said in front of about 78 CPNS of National Library.

The CPNS are the nation's shoots who have an important role in developing the country. As a servant of the state to be placed anywhere, it is obligatory to deliver the Indonesian people towards a nation that is fair, affluent, prosperous, and independent. This can be achieved through superior human resources who have knowledge.

As a capital to build the National Library and library in Indonesia, Syarif Bando emphasized the importance of reading to produce a knowledgeable nation. "There are two things that make reading important. First, reading as a capital of knowledge to bequeathed to our children and grandchildren. Second, if you read, the knowledge used is useful for the future. Many important things we understand in the future," he explained.

The latsar participants were invited to change their mindsets in facing the industrial revolution 4.0. There are two things that must be considered, namely technology acceleration and mass production. To achieve these two things, knowledge and support from a conducive environment are needed.

At the end of his direction, Syarif Bando reminded the role of libraries as human resource literacy amplifier. "The library as a center for information literacy and community activities based on information literacy," he concluded.

In 2019, National Library received as many as 330 CPNS for placement in Jakarta, Blitar, and Bukit Tinggi. Since the beginning of September 2019, the CPNS in National Library participated in a training session which was divided into three waves consisting of eight batches. Latsar training in National Library was held at PPMKP Ciawi, West Java.
