Lemhannas, Universitas Terbuka and National Library Agree to Establish MoU on National Resilience Synergy

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta- National Resilience Institute (LEMHANNAS) with National Library (Perpusnas) and Universitas Terbuka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing was carried out at Lemhannas on Tuesday morning, (10/9).

On that occasion, Governor Lemhannas Lieutenant General (Ret) Agus Widjojo, Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando, and Rector of Universitas Terbuka Ojat Darojat, agreed to synergise the development of library as national resilience resources.

Governor Lemhannas Agus Widjojo explained his MoU with National Library has three important objectives, namely establishing partnerships to expand library network through IOS digital repository, utilisation of facilities, and collection of printed works and recorded works of scientific publications.

Meanwhile, Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando said library paradigm has now changed. Libraries must reach the communities. "So there are new pieces of information suitable to the needs of the communities," said Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando.

In order to facilitate public access to libraries, continued Syarif Bando, National Library has developed three digital applications, namely Indonesia One Search (IOS) as a repository of library collections throughout Indonesia, Khasanah Nusantara (Khastara) that contains collection of manuscripts, and iPusnas application.

Governor Lemhannas hopes this MoU can be implemented in reality and consistently according to its scope. "The interagency synergy is an effort to strengthen national insight as a major prerequisite to the realisation of tough national resilience," he mentioned.
