Smartphones for Quality Photos

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - The features on smartphones are now growing very rapidly. Cameras on smartphones can produce photos with good quality and filter effects as DSLR cameras. It was delivered by Herry Tjiang, Food Photographer and Drone Pilot, in a Smartphone Photography workshop.

The event was held in the framework of Perpusnas Expo 2019 and took place at National Library Service Facility building, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan No. 11, Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/9/2019). Herry explained lighting is key to get a good photo. In addition, smartphone users must recognise the existing features such as speed, ISO, F-stop to produce quality photos.

Herry mentioned, although photos were taken using smartphones, the result could be printed in large size with sharp resolution. "If you want to get the bokeh effect to be taken in close proximity and if the photos are over-bright usually it is then focused in a neutral or white direction," he explained.

Guidelines can be used to prevent the photo from tilting. In addition, when shooting it is best to use tripod to create more stable photos.

In his explanation, Herry featured a variety of photographs taken with several lenses such as 24 mm and 16 mm lenses. In addition to being a photographer, Herry also wrote three books with photo theme namely "7 Days Learning Lighting & Styling Food", "7 Days Learning Drone Photography ", and "7 Days Learning Photography".

The event was closed by cutting a cake as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Jakarta School of Photographer (JSP). Photos exhibited at this event are the works of JSP alumni.
