Regent of Sambas Wants to Build Library as a Pride Icon

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta - Located in an interstate border area, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan, is required to build a representative library. This was conveyed by Regent of Sambas, Atbah Romin Suhaili, during work visit to National Library on Monday (29/7). In his opinion, library is a place for users to gain knowledge and obtain high goals.

Every day, many people from Sarawak (Malaysia) and Brunei Darussalam come to the area. Therefore, Sambas Regency needs support from National Library to build a regional library building. "We want to build a regional library and make it as the pride icon of Sambas Regency," he explained.

Responding to the intention, Director of National Library, Muhammad Syarif Bando, expressed his appreciation for the plan in building Sambas Regency regional library. Syarif Bando said that National Library always attempts to provide the best support because library is a fortress of literacy and a place for people to hone knowledge.

However, there are requirements that must be completed so that the submission of Special Allocation Fund (DAK) proposal for regional library building construction can be immediately processed. "The completeness of documents and building drawings must be downloaded through Krisna application as supporting requirements then a field survey will be conducted afterwards," said Syarif Bando.

Responding to this, Head of Library and Archives Office Service of Sambas Regency, Heryanto, said that the requirements mentioned above have been prepared and will soon be downloaded to Krisna application.
