Collaboration of National Library and Ministry of State Secretary in Strengthening Literacy
Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta -- A total of 93 students of the Faculty of Communication and State Administration as well as lecturers from Universitas Surakarta visited National Library of Indonesia, Merdeka Selatan, Tuesday (23/7). This activity is the result of collaboration between National Library and Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia in the reception of visiting services in both institutions.
This activity is part of Student Work Lecture aiming to add information about governance, especially good governance and information management strategies.
According to Joko Santoso, Head of Law and Planning Bureau of National Library, library service is the rights of all people and must be accessible to the widest possible area. In addition to providing direct / onsite services, National Library also provides online services. "For distant communities, we have a collection of digital content in the form of websites that can be accessed widely", he said.
Joko also said that digital services owned by National Library is very complete. "National Library website currently has 64 thematic services ranging from literature to presidential collection," he said. In addition to the website, there is also National Library’s application that can be accessed through mobile phone, namely iPusnas.
Also present at this event was Assistant Deputy of Public Relations of Ministry of State Secretariat Eddy Cahyono Sugiarto and Assistant Deputy of Politics, Law and Security of Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesian, Rejeki Wijiastuti.
