Gowa Regency Aspires to Build Modern Library

Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta – Gowa Regent Adnan Purichta Ichsan Yasin Limpo visited National Library and was welcomed by Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando at Officials Meeting Room on 5th floor of National Library, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan No. 11 Jakarta (8/5). The purpose of which was to stay in touch and consult about the construction of libraries in his region.

Adnan explained that Gowa Regency Government is very concerned in improving literacy and library development. “We are the only one in South Sulawesi that has Saleh Child Education Studio (SPAS) spread in 167 villages/kelurahan in 18 districts,” explained the young Regent. Adnan said the SPAS building have library facility in it.

Gowa Regent also expressed his aspiration to build modern library near the regent’s office which is strategically located and easily accessible to public. Therefore, he coordinated with National Library regarding technical construction planning and utilisation of Special Allocation Fund in the field of Library.

Director of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando in the meeting greatly appreciated Adnan’s effort in developing libraries in his region. Syarif also asked Gowa Regency Government to prepare the administrative documents required for library building construction which would later be proposed through Special Allocation Fund in the field of Library.
